Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, as an RMT my treatments are covered by many extended health benefits plans. I can direct bill to most insurance companies, however you are responsible for your copay if there is one. I will always provide you with a receipt for your massage.
I accept cash, debit, Visa, ,Mastercard, and e-transfer at the time of your appointment.
There is a spot in the driveway with your name on it! Ok it won’t actually have your name on it, but there will be plenty of space in the driveway for you. You are also able to park on the road if you’d prefer. There is free parking on both sides.
Come through the side gate with my sign on it. Please make sure that the gate is closed behind you. Then you’ll see the bright turquoise door. If you’re more than 10 minutes early please call/text before coming in. If you did not receive a confirmation text yesterday, but you think you have a massage today, please call me before you come. While scheduling mistakes are extremely rare, they can happen on my end or yours, so it’s best to double check.
It’s pretty common to feel a bit nervous for your first massage. I am a stranger after all. But I promise to do everything that I can to make you as comfortable as possible. When you arrive, I will ask you to fill out a health history and consent form. We will go over it together so you can help me understand what is going on and what you are hoping to get out of your massage. We will discuss what areas of the body you would like me to work on and I will suggest what clothing to take off. (Of course if there is any item of clothing that you want to keep on for your comfort, that is ok. I can work over your clothes.) I will show you how my table is set up and how to get on. I will give you the opportunity to ask questions. Then I will leave the room so you can undress and get onto the table. I will knock on the door and ask if you are ready before I come back in. During your massage, I will explain what I am doing and I will check in periodically to make sure that you are comfortable with the pressure. If anything feels uncomfortable, please tell me! It is not rude to say that you don’t like something or ask for a change in pressure. Once the massage is over, I will leave the room so you can get dressed. After you are dressed I may give you some exercises, stretches, or home care suggestions if needed.
No! Not at all. I do my best to follow your lead when it comes to conversation. It is always up to you whether you’d prefer peace and quiet, a couple minutes of conversation at the start of your massage, or a nice chat throughout your treatment.
I use Biotone Advanced Massage Gel. The main ingredients are Apricot Oil, Sesame Oil, and Grapeseed Oil. If you have any allergies, please let me know and we can carefully check to make sure that my gel will work for you. You are welcome to bring your own massage lotion if you’d prefer, however I am not able to use any cannabis topicals.
Yes. I treat children as young as 4 years old. A parent/guardian is welcome to stay in the room for the child’s comfort. I don’t offer infant massage, but if you need a referral for that, I am happy to recommend an experienced colleague.
I believe that every body deserves care and respect. For that reason I have designed my space to be as comfortable as possible for people with bigger bodies. When you arrive, you'll notice that I have a long bench and an armless chair in my seating area. I use wide sheets and blankets for comfortable draping during your massage. My table is a wider than standard massage tables (30 inches) and is rated rated to support 650lbs.
While my office is on the main level, there is a small step down to get in the door. The bathroom is down half a flight of stairs.
Yes. Of course it’s ok. Please don’t apologize. Body hair is normal. Shave if you want to. Or don’t. It makes no difference to me.
Yes. If you have a playlist that you love, feel free to bring it. You are also welcome to bring a podcast or audio-book if you want to.
No. That is insurance fraud. You must pay the Missed Appointment Fee out of pocket. The fee only applies if you do not give me 24 hours notice to reschedule or cancel.
No. That’s also insurance fraud. However I can provide you with a receipt that you may be able to use at tax time.
Tax time is stressful for everybody. As a small business owner, I get that! It takes me quite a bit of time to look up, scan, and send you a year’s worth of receipts. If I had to do that for every client, I would have to cut back my April appointment availability significantly. I suggest getting a small envelope to store your receipts, or making a file on your computer or phone where you can store a copy/photo of your receipts. That way you are all set at the end of the year.
